About Our Project
The main objective of our database is to be able to access information about our gym Crunch Fitness all in one place. Before implementing this system we utilized a system that included paper work and files as well as various different computer programs, and the information was scattered. The majority of our information is stored under various tables that provide information regarding key information about our business. The members table provides all the information regarding current members such as their member number, first and last names, phone number, contact information, agreement, sign date, as well as their type of membership and financial information regarding it. By having this, it gives a quick insight to some financial statistics. the guests table provides similar information such as full name, contact information, guest numbers and adjoining membership numbers. We have a table for classes that provides the class names, day and time, description, necessary equipment and employee who runs it. There is also a member's classes table that includes equipment, member numbers for those signed up, class name and date and time. There are also two tables that pertain to the workers of the gym, one being instructors of which gives an employee number, their names, contact information and social security number. The other is a table for trainers that contains the same information as instructors as well as their type of certification issue and expiration dates. The information in the tables makes it possible to create the forms, queries and reports.
The forms allow easy access information regarding current members and easy ways to update their personal information regarding forms of contact or payment information. The form dedicated to classes lends statistics involving the specific classes, as well as a subform that generates a class roster for specific each of the specific classes. The trainers and instructors allows their own information to be easily accessed, as well as specific clients or classes that pertains to them. The forms are helpful in order to pull up information regarding day to day activities of the gym, where as our reports generate overall information that is more helpful to see the overall status of the gym, and may be useful in making more executive decisions regarding the gym. This database is useful for everyday use, as well as providing an overall picture regarding the status of the gym making it resourceful for the company.
